DAY 50: Whole Chickens smoked in our Grapevine & Apple blend

DAY 50: Whole Chickens smoked in our Grapevine & Apple blend

A friend of ours did us a favor, so as a little way to say 'thank you', Jac made him a whole smoked chicken using our Grapevine & Apple blend. Jac likes to give food to people. Any excuse and he's out there grilling or smoking a 'Thank You' or 'Happy Birthday' or...'Happy Tuesday' gift. :)

And he made one for us too!

To prepare the chickens, we followed our usual easy two-step process:

  1. marinate them in salt, pepper, garlic and olive oil, then place in a ziploc bag in the refrigerator overnight  [If you don't have that much time, an hour or two will do.]
  2. smoke the chickens using a Wine'd Up in Smoke's blends to add all that juicy, delicious flavor. We used Grapevine & Apple today, but whole chickens are delicious when smoked with any of our blends!

This is all we usually do to prepare anything we are grilling or smoking. Our Wine'd Up in Smoke blends take it from there and add tremendous flavor!

Here's the chicken at the start of the smoking process:

And here they are just before being removed from the smoker.  YUM!!!

Chef's Tip -- When smoking a whole chicken, start by removing the backbone and gently splitting the collarbone. This allows the chicken to lie flat on the grill, ensuring even cooking and better smoke penetration for maximum flavor.

Here's one last picture. It just looks too delicious to only include one or two pictures. And yes, it tastes as good as it looks!

With a whole chicken just for us, we're going to have a delicious dinner tonight PLUS a lot of mouthwatering chicken meat to use in other meals over the next few days.  Be sure to check out what we do in the days to come!
